Family Update From Carrie

When the Lord asked us to GO three years ago, His clear message to me over and over was, “Do not be afraid.” I assumed this word from Him was for when we live in Germany. Well, this season of life for me has had so much ambiguity, that the Lord has had to remind me, “Do not be afraid.”

On June 1st the Lord provided for amazing renters to move into our home in Colorado Springs, just in time for us to go to our pre-field training school in North Carolina starting June 8th. Since He provided this in such a miraculous way, Jeff and I had the confidence to also take our children out of the neighborhood school district, trusting that He had plans for them to be at their new school in Germany in the fall. The Lord also provided Wesley to opportunity to finish elementary school (5th grade is the last year of elementary in Colorado) and say a wonderful “goodbye” to his friends. He had some sadness that he was not going to the neighborhood Middle school with his friends. However, he is very excited for his new adventure of going to Middle school at Black Forest Academy in Germany.

During the summer we did not have time to contact individuals and ask them to support us, because we had to focus on a very intense training program. Please see our pictures later. However, some new support came in, but not enough.

Here we are now, back in Colorado. We are staying at a wonderful home in Monument, as a temporary landing pad. We are borrowing my dad’s car, since we sold ours. Our monthly support level is not enough to plan our move or set a date to leave yet.

So, what do we do about school? Well, after moving out of our home and neighborhood school, and after 6 weeks of the kids preparing to be missionary kids, we don’t have peace about putting the kids into public school again. We are in the process of letting BFA in Germany know that we will be a little late. So, pray for us. We are in this weird “in-between” stage. In the meantime, the kids and I will do some homeschooling, but the goal is to still get to Germany during the fall. God is still on the throne. His timing is perfect. This new season of last minute support-raising will have joys in it for sure! Since you care for us because you are reading this, please consider being part of our support team, and become a monthly supporter!

Thank you!
